The Gaudí Crypt in the Colonia Güell is one of the architect's best-kept secrets. It is an atypical example of architecture built with materials of similar colours and textures to the soil and vegetation. In fact, it blends in perfectly with the surrounding woodland. 

 The church of the Colonia Güell also includes numerous examples of Gaudí's mastery of the applied arts, both in terms of the furnishings - such as the ergonomic benches - and the purely ornamental stained-glass windows.

 The crypt was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2005. 

The tour of the Colonia Güell is captivating for its charm and the tranquillity of the surroundings. The atmosphere of the 19th century is still preserved in its streets, one of the elements that make it so special.
