Read this information carefully:
Walk along part of the Camino de Santiago del Norte in one of its most beautiful sections. During the walk we will learn about the history and nature that surrounds this route. We will end our route at a Txakoli winery with integrated viticulture and taste its wines along with local products.
Visit the towns of Zarautz and Getaria
Walk along part of the Way of St. James with beautiful views of the sea.
Finish at a family-run, integrated production Txakolindegi.
After catching the train in San Sebastian, we will start this trail in the small coastal town of Zarautz, where we will walk through the old town, visit the market and understand how Basque society has evolved over time, integrating wine and the Christian religion into their culture.
We will then continue along the old "Camino del Norte" through the mountains. It will be difficult, but we will pass by a centuries-old hermitage with incredible views, admiring the vineyards and the idyllic rural setting.
As a reward for our efforts, we will descend the mountain to visit my favourite Txakolindegi, Gaintza. There you will learn how they make Txakoli in a more environmentally responsible way and taste the wine, eat Anchovies and White Tuna; and have a great time with the family who own the winery. We can even buy a few bottles for a cheaper price than in the supermarkets!
We will finish this experience by walking through the narrow streets of the medieval village of Getaria, where we will remember the exploits and lifestyles of its most illustrious inhabitants.
I will be happy to suggest places to eat or show you how to get back to your hotel after this experience.
