Day trip to the Caves of San José from Valencia

Description

In the village of Vall d'Uixo you will find the longest navigable underground river in Europe, it is 3000 metres long and we will visit 1 kilometre of it (850 metres by boat and 250 metres walking).

For the visit to Vall d'Uixó, we will pick you up from the hotels in the centre of Valencia at around 08:30 hours (variable time by Pancho Tours SL according to reservations) and we will head north towards Vall de Uixó, to the town of Castellón, where the famous Caves of San José are located.

After approximately 45 minutes drive, we will arrive at these caves.

To visit these caves, we will board a boat and cross the longest navigable underground river in Europe accompanied by a boatman-guide. During the approximately one hour trip we will see wide galleries, stalactite-covered ceilings and spaces known as 'the cathedral' or the 'bat room'.

In one section we will continue our tour on foot (250 metres), while we unveil the origins of the caves and their evolution over the years. After enjoying a full day in the Cuevas de San José and its surroundings, we will return to the hotels in Valencia.

The cave has a constant temperature of 20º all year round. We advise you to wear comfortable shoes.

This tour includes pick up and transfer from the hotels in Valencia to the cave, boat ride and return to Valencia. The tour does not include meals and drinks.

It has an estimated duration of 3.5 hours from the time the clients are picked up at the meeting point until we return to Valencia.

• There is a kayaking option to have an absolute experience inside the cave. The kayak activity includes wetsuit, kayak and the possibility to swim in the water and discover a small area that is not compatible with the ordinary tourist visits.
