Description

Get to know the beautiful nature and geological heritage of this territory along this 3.5 - 4 hour hike spanning over 15 million years of history. Discover the incredible and unique flysch rock formations of the UNESCO World Geopark of the Basque Coast.

You will see the rock layer where the secrets of the extinction of the dinosaurs are hidden.

Visit the medieval village of Zumaia

After catching the train in San Sebastian and travelling for about 40 minutes we will arrive in the beautiful village of Zumaia where we will visit the UNESCO Basque Coast Geopark. Then, for about 3 hours we will walk through part of the old town and understand its historical evolution, at the same time we will start our geological knowledge.

After visiting the old town we will go to a small watchtower 80 metres above sea level and begin our tour of some 15 million years of history. You will discover the incredible and unique rock formation of the Flysch of the UNESCO World Geopark of the Basque Coast and through its cliffs you will understand the great importance of this natural heritage. We will visit Itzurun beach and walk outside the Hermitage of San Telmo.
